Happy Monday Friends!
Gosh, was this September not the best? All warm summer weekends. One gorgeous sunset after the other & new weekend adventures on the schedule. Sometimes I have the feeling that my weekends are just never the same. Or follow a rule, come with that. Past Saturday we drove down to the farthest end of the black forest and met with our lovely couple at the oldest and most historical park hotel I have been to yet. This enchanting place has hosted guests like Marie Antoinette & Napoleone´s wife & now we stumbled quietly into the hotel lobby. Which by the way looked like straight out of a Sissy movie. Not that I have ever watched one of these, but I image her living room to look a lot like this.
During our break Mau & I grabbed a coke at the hotel bar & ran into a regular. We are not sure yet, but he might or might not have been a very famous opera singer once. Oh welp. How can this get any better?
After all this excitement & a firework to crown the night we headed back home. Boy, was I grateful to have brought Mau as my assistant this time. The rain was super heavy & I was quite tired. Not exactly the best conditions to drive in. Around 1 am on the highway, happened an accident right in front of us & all I could do was give thanks to the many guardian angels for having prevented us from worse. While waiting for the police to open the lanes again we camped out in the car, ate cookies & read. Here is something you might not have know yet, but getting stuck on the highway in the middle of the night is always better together.
So grateful for patient friends. Be it to endure the long drive home or to grab a snap of myself. Rieke, thank you for this portrait of mine. I enjoyed goofing around with you.
