DIE BILDSCHÖPFERIN
Es ist nicht leicht einen genauen Moment festzuhalten, aber ich vermute das mir visuelles Story-telling nie wirklich eine andere Wahl gab. Vom Kollagen basteln in meiner frühen Kindheit, zum vernarrten Hochzeitsblog lesen in meinen frühen 20ern, bis hin zu meiner Vollzeit Leidenschaft als Fotografin während meines Bachelor Studiums.
Ich bin Rici, eine quirlige, aufgeschlossene und zugleich introvertierte Person, mit außerordentlichem Hang zur Beobachtung und einer unglaublichen Leidenschaft für alles Ästhetische, einzigartige Liebesgeschichten, herrliches Licht, Reisen und der täglichen Dosis an Story-telling.
Manchmal schüchtern, manchmal laut… vor allem wenn ich lache sprudelt ein bisschen südliche Wärme hervor.

It is hard to pinpoint the exact moment, but I guess visual story telling never really was an option for me. From crafting collages when I was little, to becoming an avid wedding blog stalker in my early 20s, to making it my full time passion while still pursuing my bachelor`s degree.
I am Rici, a quirky, outgoing introvert, full of passion for all things aesthetics, love stories, gorgeous light, travel and a daily dose of story-telling.
Sometimes timid, sometimes loud. Especially when I laugh a little warming southerners spills over.

How did you get into photography?
Growing up I actually wanted to be a wedding photographer. And while I studied economics and management, Italian and English literature, linguistics and cultural studies I was still always ogling with photography, religiously going for photo walks in Tuscany almost every week and secretly watching every free photography workshop I could find in my bed at night (while telling my parents I was studying something else). The dream had cemented itself around 2012 while I lived in Siena. And in 2013 I met Jan, my former boss who shortly after offered me a job at his studio in Stuttgart, which we opened together in 2014. I found that I had hit it pretty close to wedding planning by then. Since 2015 I am a full time photographer and I have not looked back, instead always looked forward to where the good light is.
Are you Italian?
Hihi, I love that question! Actually I am not Italian, but I am convinced that my heart is! I was born in East Germany and have moved around quite a bit since finishing high school.
What do you shoot with?
I shoot with Canon and have a suitcase full of "glass babies", my lenses. ;)
Where have you lived in the last years?
Oh such a good one! I lived in South Tyrol, Bavaria, Tuscany, Baden-Württemberg, and Scotland. Oddly, Edinburgh was the only city which was not a wine-region so far. But the rough coast and heartfelt people are simply divine. Tuscany is the place I would move back to in a heartbeat! Also, if you wann book me for ANYTHING in Tuscany, please write ASAP. :D
What do you do in your free time?
I am a huge people lover. I try to meet with my close friends - who are also my family - as often as possible. On any day you can find me in a café slurping down a cappuccino. My nightstands, yes, there is more than one, are piled with books. Going to sleep without reading seems impossible to me. I listen to a lot of music and watch films with a passion for research. Which is why, lastly I studies Film Studies. I collect moments and images... honestly it is hard to say where the hobby begins and the work ends.
Do you have a motto you live by?
I am not sure if it is a motto, but here are some things I believe in;
I believe in late night dance parties in the living room.
I believe in heart connections and long conversations.
I believe that Italia is ALWAYS a good idea!
I believe in big gowns and tulle skirts and twirling.
I believe in small gestures which mean the world to one special someone.
I believe that heartfelt trumps perfection.
I believe in laughing, a lot.
I believe in holding you dearest humans close to your heart.
I believe that castles are a perfect backdrop, but so are country fields and seaside rocks.
I believe in saying ´thank you, darlin´and ´sorry dear´and ´you are so welcome´. I believe in kindness, always.
Wie bist du zur Fotografie gekommen?
Als ich ein Teenager war wollte ich tatsächlich Hochzeitsplanerin werden. Doch während meines Studiums von Wirtschaft und Management und Italienisch und Englischen Sprach-Literatur und Kulturwissenschaften hab ich beständig sehnsüchtig die Fotografie nieder gestarrt. Wöchentlich ging ich auf Foto-Spaziergänge in der Toskana und schaute nachts nahezu heimlich alle kostenlosen Fotografie Workshops die ich online fand (während ich meinen Eltern erzählte etwas anderes zu studieren). Der Traum an Hochzeitsfotografie hat sich wahrscheinlich während meiner Zeit in Siena 2012 und durch all das gute Licht was mich dort umgab verfestigt. Ein Jahr später lernte ich meinen ehemaligen Chef Jan kennen, mit dem ich zusammen 2014 in Stuttgart ein wunderschönes Studio eröffnete. Zu der Zeit merkte ich das es schon sehr nah an der Hochzeitsplanerei dran war. Seit 2015 bin ich nun hauptberufliche Fotografin und immer mit einem suchenden Blick wo das Gute Licht zu finden ist unterwegs.
Bist du Italienerin?
Hihi, ich liebe diese Frage! Tatsächlich bin ich keine Italienerin, jedoch bin ich felsenfest davon überzeugt das mein Herz Italienisch ist. Geboren bin ich in Ostdeutschland, sein dem Abitur bin ich jedoch immer wieder umgezogen.
Mit was fotografierst du?
Ich fotografiere mit Canon und hab einen Koffer voller "Glas-Babies", meine Objektive. ;)
Wo hast du in den letzten Jahren gelebt?
Oh, so eine gute Frage! Ich hab in Südtirol, Bayern, der Toscana, Baden-Württemberg und Schottland gelebt. Witzigerweise ist Edinburgh der einzige Ort der nicht eine ausgeprägte Weinregion war. ;) Die raue Küste und herzenswarmen Menschen kann ich jedoch nur empfehlen. Wobei Toskana der Ort ist an den ich augenblicklich zurückziehen würde. Wenn du mich dort für EGAL WAS buchen möchtest schreib ASAP. :D
Was machst du in deiner Freizeit?
Ich liebe Menschen so sehr und versuche so oft wie möglich meine Freunde - welche auch meine Familie sind - zu treffen. An fast jedem beliebigen Tag kannst du mich in einem Cafè antreffen, einen Cappuccino genüßlich schlürfend. Meine Nachtschränke, ja davon gibt es mehrere..., sind mit Bücherstapeln überhäuft. Einzuschlafen ohne vorher zu lesen scheint mir geradezu unmöglich. Ich höre sehr viel Musik und schaue Filme mit einem echten Interesse an Erforschung. Was wahrscheinlich erklärt warum ich zuletzt Filmwissenschaften studierte. Ich sammle Momente, Szenen, Bilder... die Grenzen sind fließend, es ist schwer zu definieren wo das Hobby beginnt und mein Beruf aufhört.
