When I think back to this intimate wedding celebration, I think of tenderness and kindness in a away I have rarely seen before. I have seen bravery in eyes which have decided that hard seasons can be festive season all the same. I remember many tight held hands and close hugs and wet eyes because those are the seasons which will pull each dear soul closer together. And those are also the seasons which make you grateful to be alive and to be able to draw each breath and to hold each guest who came.
This was the very first time I accepted a booking from the best man of the couple. It was a spontaneous change of plans that had him call me up short days before the ceremony was planned. And as soon as I heard the couples story I said, yes, I will be there. What an honour to be invited among the family and closest friends, to stand in first line and witness the beginning of a new marriage. Dear Emma & Christian, I am so grateful for your trust and for your lovely day! It was an honour!
The ceremony was held in a beautiful parlour at castle Hemming. A romantic and snug little castle with ivory stairways, ancient paintings and a very beautiful garden, which absolutely had to be walked and very old trees for backdrops.
