The year is coming to a close and as all weddings of the year are shot and all the files at least saved (triple) and all hurry is finally lain aside, it seems that even time needs to draw a deep breath. I have driven east to meet with family and spend my holiday season home. But having friends who turned family and more than one home it seems almost unusual to pick just one and spend my time there. So this year we are reintroducing an old family tradition. As I child I knew our house never without guests and this year I am so glad we get to host new friends with us for the holiday. For me it is so important to not forget people who might be alone or far from home. Friends! Christmas is about opening your humble stable. It is about welcoming people in. It is about remembering Jesus birthday and the holiness of God. The miracle of God with us.
And should there for some reason sneak heaviness over you in this season, know that you are loved and prayed for. That you are special and unique and that the miracle of this feast we remember means that Jesus, knew all of this intimately. And that is why he came. He came to walk right next to you, and next to me, whatever this season may look like.
Have a very Blessed Christmas time!!
