As some of you might have suspected and many have observed the wedding industry has dramatically changed during the last year, and so has our photography business. At the beginning of the pandemic, I was still in Scotland and before and during my master I had always planned on resuming work in our lovely photo studio in Stuttgart. However, throughout the turbulent months of lockdown and vast alterations in our work life we (Jan and I) decided to close the studio and change the teamwork we loved for years.

After pondering for seemingly weeks on end, heaps of prayers end encouraging words from friends and many a pep talk with myself on how to best continue, I have decided to take the leap and restart what has always been my passion work. Therefore you are now looking at La Rici Photography, being in the process of re-opening for business.

It is a frightfully exciting and paper war filled journey so far. But whenever I look at previous clients’ work and thank you notes and flowers which were handed to me, I remember why I started in the first place. Not now, but all those years ago, when I was still in university for the first time, no wait, the second time… and my parents tried to talk me out of pursuing photography as a full-time job. This time, my parents were the first to cheer me on, despite insecurities, despite cancelled weddings, despite tricky finances, they were the first to holler, Go. For It.

As were a little band of faithful friends and a wonderful select number of clients who caught wind and send mails and encouragement.

So today I want to let you know, giving photography up was never an option. Of course there will be many a change coming with beginning again. And YAY, I will share about those as we go ahead. 😉

Here is to a new beginning, bold and scary, to new beauty before me and new light to discover the world by, to many more wonderful people to meet and shootings to shoot.

I want to say a huge thank you to every single one of you, for sticking around and checking in, for being interested and for cheering me on! Without you, this would mean nothing. So, thank you ever so much!!!

      Till very soon, Rici.

PS, ok, Ill admit I miss the rough Scottish hills and cliffs and oh castles, but can we just talk about how pretty the forest behind our house is?
