ENG – Two weeks ago I visited my first wedding show in the longest time. I mean I had been away in Scotland, but then Covid hit and all of the wedding vendor socializing was parked for far too many months.
To be quite honest with you I had no idea how I would handle all the full on socializing. So before I went I told myself I will talk to three people and if I am too overwhelmed by everything – then I could leave.
I had to give myself a very manageable goal to get into the room 😉
Anybody else having shy troubles?
The good thing was that wedding vendors of all kinds are really some of the kindest and friendliest people I know. Everybody was so easy to talk to and connect with that I stayed like four times longer than expected. I could tell that the whole room was ready to meet new people and be out again.
I also meet a wonderful photographer friend I had texted and written E-Mails with for several years now and never met in person. But when I glimpsed a little visitor break at her booth, I went to say HI to Rebecca and it was the sweetest first met I can remember! Rebecca, you are such a heartfelt, wonderful person! It was sooooo good to finally meet you!
And finally, I was able to talk to new stylists and planners and designers and flower artists. What a joy it was! I truly hope to meet many of those creatives on my upcoming weddings.

D – Vor zwei Wochen durfte ich endlich mal wieder eine Hochzeitsmesse besuchen. WOW, es ist echt lange her gewesen. Natürlich war ich zwischendurch ein Jahr in Schottland, aber auch Covid hat uns immer wieder auf solche Events warten lassen.
Um ehrlich zu sein hab ich nicht ganz gewusst wie ich einen Raum voller Dienstleister und Socializing verkraften würde. So hab ich mir, bevor ich ankam, als Socializing Ziel gesetzt mit drei neuen Personen zu connecten. Und wenn ich dann zu überfordert sein würde, darf ich Heim gehen 😉 Erlebt irgendjemand von euch ab und an Überforderung auf Events?
Die Gute Nachricht ist das Hochzeitsdienstleister wahrscheinlich zu den liebsten und einladensten Menschen gehören die man sich vorstellen kann. Jede Person mit der ich sprechen durfte war einfach so angenehm das ich viermal länger blieb als erwartet. Man hat wirklich gespürt wie sehr die Besucher und Aussteller es genossen haben wieder auf einem Event dieser Art unterwegs zu sein.
Eines meiner absoluten Highlights war es endlich Rebecca treffen zu können. Seit mehreren Jahren haben wir auf Instagram und Mail geschrieben, aber uns noch nie in Person getroffen.
