Something beautiful happened last weekend. It was a destination wedding & we had travelled south for this wonderful affair. The day unfolded in an effortless beautiful way, with a first look in a mossy wood, with meaningful details and many heartfelt hugs, a backyard filled with kin and friends alike… with they day softly slipping by till the sunset shoot & then we heard the first thunder roll.

We headed out to catch the last of rays on a slopey hill overlooking the land and saw the sun sinking red. And headed back for more joyful chatter among the friends and under the big oak, with twinkly lights and candles lit. Till we felt the third harsh drop. Suddenly heaven opened and guests sought out oak tree, sunbrellas and house. Candles rained out and DJ still playing, under our sunbrella a small dance party began to grow and finally with most clothes wet (because who are we kidding, sunbrella?!?!?) and make-up gone we decided to take the party on the floor. The rain was warm, just like the ground and finally more joined and the party continued. It was a night to remember.
Sometimes this is just was it is. There are moments we have to decide to take the shoes off and make the best of the rain. And maybe even join the party, despite the thunder and decorative lighting high above. Did I already mention thunder storms freak me out? No? Alright, there you have it. And still all of this was so much better. I am so glad I signed up for the most beautiful version of our very own mamma mia life. The rain could not have started at a better time photo wise (since all the pictures were taking and sitting in the safe dry place). Thank you to my special bride & groom for inviting me not only as their photographer, but as their friend. It was an honour & I am grateful to Jesus to have been able to live this day, just as it came.

How about you? When was the last time you danced in the rain?

      Have a wonderful Monday!
