I once heard a quote saying if you want to go a far, don´t go alone.

The more I look around me and observed the leaders and creatives I admire the more I think it is true. Creating a network and support system for myself is one of my goals as I am setting up my own business. I know I cannot go alone. I know community is what makes the journey a long lasting one.

Frankly I also know that the ongoing crisis has changed that a lot. Especially in the way we meet people. Find new connections. Reach out. Finding a balance between isolation, responsibility, self-care and longevity is quite the challenge, when starting a new business in this time of ours.

How are you connecting with peers in the industry? How are you finding new people to network with?

This is an open question because I am en route myself.

On another beautiful note; past Friday night I was able to interview for the first time a mentor for other mentors. Finding a network for mentoring was something I did before setting out to move to Scotland. Something you have to know about myself is that I have so many wild ideas in my head, that I strongly believe going ahead in good company is absolutely vital for me.

So come Friday evening I was actually ready to hide under my blanket. I have never done an interview like this before, let alone in a (zoom) room full of wonderful mentors. However, after talking to friends and watching Marie`s video where she shares about fears and the stage, I felt at least ok to try something new. 😉

So, when was the last time you tried something new?
